"Thunder in the Valley" is run based on the rules put out by the NHRA in regards to safety and general procedures, but PLEASE keep in mind that this is NOT a sanctioned track and that we have different standards regarding insurance etc so there are some rules we apply that may be different. Among those includes:
A driver may only race in one class.
All drivers must be the sole occupant of the vehicle during a race.
All drivers, regardless of speed/class, MUST wear a helmet. Helmets must be SNELL 2010 or newer. 2010 dated helmets are good until 1/1/2022.

Remember, this is what we would like to consider a "fun" weekend of racing, a bit of a break from the regular grind, so please understand if things are not quite the way they are at your home track. Now lets go burn some rubber!
This years program will remain the same as last year, with time trials on Saturday and eliminations on Sunday. The AVDRA has changed and modified the classes to best suit the new location and available parking space.

Pro car field has no electronics; if your car has electronics, they must be disabled to race this class. Capable of running max 5.80 1/8 mile (11.49 to 9.05 sec 1/4 mile). 50 car limit. Registered time enforced. Mandatory current NHRA license and chassis tag numbers recorded to your registration form if running 9.99 or quicker. Minimum 5 point roll bar and all necessary safety gear as per NHRA time rules. Drag radials or drag slicks only. No street tires! No electronics (egg timer systems). Throttle stops and such can be installed but must be disabled to run this class. NO ANTIFREEZE in coolant – WATER ONLY. Assigned parking. Sportsman tree. Vehicles capable of running max 7.40 1/8 mile (13.00 to 11.50 sec 1/4 mile). 50 car limit. Registered time Enforced Drag radials, Slicks ,or Street tires Open or closed exhaust. NO ANTIFREEZE in coolant – WATER ONLY. No electronics (egg timer systems). Assigned parking. Sportsman tree. Registration and such fees apply; please fill out form.
Vehicles running 8.30 or slower 1/8 mile (13.01 or slower 1/4 mile). 50 car limit. Fast time break enforced. No crew or support vehicle. Parking in the Sportsman pits. NO ANTIFREEZE in coolant – WATER ONLY. Sportsman tree. Run it and have fun! Registration and such fees apply; please fill out form. No restricted passes for this class.
16 bike limit. Experienced racers only. Limited field.
NOTE: Junior dragster registration fee is $50. 8 car limit. Open to all Junior dragster competitors as per NHRA rules. time breaks to be after qualifying.
